As observed by the social networking site, the most common
buzzword found in resumes is ‘Creative’. From candidates appearing for writing jobs
to jobseekers applying for webdesigner jobs, all of their resumes have the common word describing them
as creative person. Career expert David Schwarz commented on the situation and
said that not only it makes the resume appear generic, but also it gives the
prospective employers wrong signals. He added that since everyone today is
creative, the potential employers do not know about the details of the
candidate. Glossy the details in resume are misleading. According to Schwarz,
engaged as a consultant in a career management, whatever is mentioned in the
resume should be backed with a proof.
Candidates applying for jobs in Document Controller or as software engineer should
not use the words like analytical, rich experience or good communication skills
in these resume unless statement proving these words. Many candidates use rich
experience even if they just have 2 years of work experience. Rich experience
is usually more than 8 to 10 years of experience.
Another common thing noted in resumes is the section of writing
the goals. Most of the candidates mention goals as ‘in the next five years,
they want to become an efficient’. This means that in the current profile, the
incumbent will not be efficient. It is seen that most of the candidates mention
such goals.
